Draw the Line

Smoke still drifted from the priestly garments now turned bag of bones worn by Nadab and Abihu…

Moses dared Aaron to weep or mourn for his boys who offered strange fire on a holy altar of God….

The Lord does not play games with such things…

Moses told him that you are anointed of the Lord and those that are anointed are expected to live and die differently than others….

To this point God had spoken to Moses but for the first and last time HE speaks directly to Aaron….

Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean; Lev 10:9,10

HE admonished him that there are some things one does not do when he is to enter Holy Places…

And then the Lord gives direction to Aaron that is startling in its clarity…..

Aaron, YOU are to put a difference between holy and unholy and clean and unclean….

YOU draw the line Aaron….

You are not to depend on Moses and the law for some defining points of clean and unclean…

Aaron you are to draw the line for yourself between clean and unclean and holy and unholy….

We learn from this that there are some things a man must settle for himself….

Pastor or friend or even the Word cannot settle some issues….

But God expects each of US to draw a line between clean and unclean and holy and unholy…..

Nadab and Abihu are proof positive that God does not play around with such things….

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 2 Cor 6:19…

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you 2 Cor 6:17…

Why?….

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle , or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Eph 5:27

HIS bride must be spotless and wrinkle free…

But for the legalist among us please note he was speaking to you as well….

No spots or wrinkles remind us there are absolute things in black and white defined within the Word that qualify as spots or wrinkles….

But there are those intangibles that cannot be defined as a spot or wrinkle….

Paul covered this as well when he wrote….

Any such thing….

Some things might not be a spot or wrinkle but they pertain to a spot or wrinkle and help create future spots or wrinkles….

My dear blogging friend…

Each of us must settle some things for ourselves….

We must each draw the line between holy and unholy and clean and unclean….

We are not our own, rather HE purchased us….

We cannot touch the unclean….

We must avoid spot and wrinkle….

And all those things that might create spots or wrinkles tomorrow…..

And never forget my blogger buddy…..

We have the simmering cloaks full of Nadab’s and Abihu’s bones to remind us…

That we do not do some things…

Blessings…
