It Is Well

Every morning after breakfast time for 15 months……

For 15 months and 14 days every morning after nasty oatmeal and smeared snot I held Annaleigh tight, walked the circle of our living room and kitchen….

And prayed….

Prayed for protection, wisdom and gave daily instruction to the two guardian angel guys we believed were there….

Those angels were there every day….

Even last Wednesday when Annaleigh toddled out the front door behind Bishop the Killer Guard Poodle, down the driveway and over to Larry & Karen’s mailbox to finish his business….

And as Bishop finished his…

Annaleigh Sage Smith finished hers……

Those angels did not neglect their duty,…

Rather they served as escort and followed commands to step back as their Lord arrived and gathered our Sweet Annaleigh into his arms and magestically carried her from our world….

Our world to His……

And this morning, with laptop propped on the arms of her little princess rocking chair, hundreds of flowers around me and a little white casket just a few feet away I weep….

Poppy sure misses his baby girl……

Sometime during the fight for survival, I found myself alone with Annaleigh in her PICU room for an hour……

I stroked her pretty little hair that was finally beginning to grow…..

For the record, Rogaine was working for both of us……

But I touched her hair, her face, her little fingers, that swollen little right leg that had gotten so bruised by the medical care…..

And talked to her…..

Poppy’s girl is gonna be OK…..

As I said those Poppy kind of things I realized there was more than just Sweet Annaleigh and me in the room for I felt His presence and heard His words……

Suffer the child to come to me……

So I looked at my baby and touched her face and said….

Annaleigh, do you see that nice man?  He said for me to let you come over to him…..

It’s OK….

You can go….

We will suffer your leaving so bad….

It hurts so bad …..

But baby, it is OK…..

Mommy will be OK….

Daddy will be OK…..

Poppy & Lolly will be OK…..

Kiko & LaLa will be OK…..

It is OK for you to go to him…..

She took a tentative step and turned and looked back for reassurance….

No, not reassurance from us but rather reassurance for us….

For the next few hours she paused between Him and us….

Then about 3:23 Friday morning another step……

Another glance……

3:25 another step…..

Another glance back……
3:26 those little arms went up for Him to pick her up….

3:27 His arms gently picked up our sweet Annaleigh…

And while machines went silent here….

Weeping broke out in the PICU room…..

Heaven erupted……

Heaven rejoiced……..

That is except for that littlest angel boy with the smudged crown who always is getting into stuff and trouble…..

I heard him say, Aw Jeez not her.  Now she is gonna get all the attention and get in all the stuff…….

So we suffer….

So we suffered her to Him……

The Great Woman of Shumen was overwhelmed in the same manner the day her boy was overcome with the heat…..

Heat stroke the word indicates but he and she would not be the first to be overcome by the climate and spirit of the day…..

She took that 15 year old boy and laid him in that special place of prophetic utterance and turned and rushed to the man of God……

She arrived at the prophet’s mountain, it was really her mountain…..

The questions came to her…..

How is it with your household, How is it with the child…..

And though she knew there was a dead baby back at the house she spoke with the faith that had made her the Great Woman she was and answered…..

It is well……

Last week another Great Young Woman faced the same trial…..

Redonia pulled her 15 month old sweet Annaleigh from a ditch and ran it to the dining room table and fought and cried and prayed…..

She prayed at the Conroe Hospital…

She prayed at Herman Memorial….

Family gathered and prayed…..

She prayed and made commitments…..

Hector prayed and made commitments……

Hundreds gathered with us and prayed…..

So many gathered the Hospital was overwhelmed with our numbers and finally asked us to leave……

And while the drama of our human pain and suffering went on……

Out sweet Annaleigh had taken those first tentative steps toward the Lord and waited, glancing back to make sure all was well……

Well with us…..

We stood there looking and listening those cruel machines as they beeped and buzzed the last seconds of her life…..

I heard this Great Young Woman say……

I heard this Great Young man say……

Its OK baby…..

Its OK baby……..

3:27 the Master picked up the child and embraced her…..

Offering sweet peace and comfort as He turned and made his way with sweet Annaliegh back into the heavens....

This Great Young Woman stood at the bottom of the biggest mountain of her life…..

Questions echoed from the heavenlies……

How is it with the child?

The Great Young Mother….

The Great Young Father……

With tears streaming answered back to their Master……

It Is Well……..
